FAQs

faq

  • Do I need to arrange travel insurance?

We strongly advise taking out comprehensive travel insurance prior to your cruise.

  • Is there a laundry service on board?

Yes. Our stewardess is more than happy to wash your clothes for you. Please place your items in the laundry bag provided in each stateroom.

  • How often is my stateroom serviced?

Your stateroom is serviced daily by our stewardesses.

  • Do I need to bring my own fishing gear?

Ocean Dream is fully equipped with excellent fishing gear including rods, reels and lures. We ask that you replace any fishing gear that is lost or damaged. If you would like to bring your own gear, please call the office beforehand to make sure there are no luggage restrictions applicable to your cruise.

  • What should I pack?

We recommend our guests to pack their personal items into a soft luggage bag. Guests will need to pack light weight clothing suitable for warm weather conditions. A long sleeved shirt like those worn for fishing are a good idea for long periods in the sun. A day pack is also handy for day excursions and hikes. Cruises from June-August might experience cooler nights so a light cardigan or pullover would be ideal.

There is a no shoe policy whilst on board Ocean Dream. The reason for this is to maintain the vessel in pristine condition and up keep the casual atmosphere. However, you will need water shoes or reef sandals for water landings and a pair of enclosed shoes for bush walking.

  • What level of fitness is required?

It is totally up to you as to your level of engagement in our daily activities. Some days you may prefer to stay on the vessel and relax and that is totally fine. However, if you would like to partake in our daily excursions then a moderate level of fitness is required. There will be disembarkations of the vessel into tenders and onto shore, climbing over uneven rocky ground, bush walking and some moderate climbs up to Indigenous Art sites.

  • Can I smoke on board Ocean Dream?

Smoking is permitted on the top deck only. Please use the ash trays provided and respect the environment.

  • Can you cater for specific dietary requirements?

Of course we can. Please inform the office at the time of booking with any dietary requirements.

  • Can I bring my children?

Due to the nature of our cruises and out of respect for fellow guests, children are not allowed on board during our scheduled cruises. You may however bring your children on Ocean Dream for one of our exclusive private charters. You only need to get together 12 family members and friends and the whole boat is yours.

  • Can I make phone calls and send and receive emails?

Due to the remote location of our adventure cruises, there is no mobile phone reception so you will not be able to use your phone to make calls. For emergencies, the vessel has a satellite phone. Internet accessibility is possible however it is limited by location and sporadic. Whilst we encourage our guests to make the most of their cruise by “disconnecting” we understand the need to keep in touch with loved ones, especially when you are having so much fun.

Use of the satellite phone and internet will incur additional costs that can be arranged with the captain of the vessel.

Our office is happy to pass on any messages to and from the vessel.
